Mogwai are one of the most boring live shows i've ever witnessed.

Most 'Post-rock' is pretty boring to me, because it's all basically the same and ripping off of other bands. But I like some original stuff... GY!BE, ASMZ, Sigur Ros, EITS, Pelican, Tortoise, Mogwai, The Evpatoria Report

Anyone from Australia (or anyone outside it for that matter) heard a band called Laura? I stumbled across their first album about a month ago and it's incredible.

Red Sparowes were absolutely brilliant when I saw them Wednesday past, supberb. As for post-rock bands that I enjoy they include Mogwai, Pelican, Red Sparowes, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed, Sigur Ros, Saxon Shore, Foxhole, Do Make Say Think, Russian Circles. There's a brilliant band out there called Gas Giant based in Edinburgh that are really worth a listen...
As for 65 Days of Static I saw them tour Fall of Math and then One Time for All Time and I'd definatley say they were better first time round, the second album just doesn't seem to have the same edge...

GY!BE, ASMZ, Sigur Ros, EITS, Pelican, Tortoise, Mogwai, The Evpatoria Report You do realised you just listed a bunch of stereotypical O.C 'post rock' bands that rip each other off? Apart from Tortoise. ive seen mogwai a few times this year and they were fantastic - incredibly loud too, mogwai far satan damaged my hearing for a good four days or so. my then girlfriend did find the gig boring though I've seen them 8 times all together. They used to be exciting, thrilling even, to watch. But now they're just...boring. Not helped by the fact Mr Beast is a very very very average record. Red Sparowes were absolutely brilliant when I saw them Wednesday past, supberb. As for 65 Days of Static I saw them tour Fall of Math and then One Time for All Time and I'd definatley say they were better first time round, the second album just doesn't seem to have the same edge... You're s.h.i.t.t.i.n.g me? Fall Of Math, is fantastic, but it sounds like bloody Linkin Park at times. One Time for All Time is a far superior album. Sound wise, as well as production. Its far more intense, and works far better as a record.

I think not man, Fall of Math had a rawness to it that made 65 slap you in the face. Linkin Park? WTF? One Time for All Time is over-produced. I'm not saying that it's a poor album - it's just not as good as Fall of Math

Yes. Linkin Park. This Cat Is A Llandmine has it written all over. I find The Fall Of Math really cheesy at times as well (not always in a bad way). But hey, if you like cheesy music, fair enough.

But hey, if you like cheesy music, fair enough. whoah, hold up there for a second i was merely stating a preference between albums. you don't need to insult me by saying i listen to "cheesy music". One Time for All Time has some mind blowing tracks on it don't get me wrong. as for this thread let's get it back on track...

Oh yeah Rachel's! I really don't know why they're considered post-rock though. There's nothing rock about them, they're classical/experimental. I love their music though, and have most of their records.
