Hi, I'm Alec and I'm from Carlsbad, California. I've been listening to Explosions In The Sky, for about a year now, and I love them. I play the Djembe myself, which is a drum if you don't know. I look forward to getting to know you guys better. Also, I am 16.

i wasn't aware that there was a board. just kind of stumbled across it while searching for something. anyway, 29. been around/listening since 01. i don't know if there's anyone else i know on this board, but i figure there may be a few people who know me. and i figure i might as well plug this just in case anyone might not have seen the site before (though it is linked to from explosions in the sky's site) www.tourhistory.org/eits.. just a little project i've been maintaining for about six years now.

I'm Ryan, I'm 19 from MA and I have been into Explosions in the sky since 2004. I play music and record bands when I'm not at school.
After this October I will have seen them 8 times. The first time I got the chance to see them has been the best. They were on tour supporting the earth is not a cold dead place. The show fell on my 17th birthday, but the show was 18+. I met up with them outside the venue and told them my situation. They put my brother on the guest list and snuck me in through the back. With seeing so many great bands filled with snobs, it was very rewarding to see such a great band filled with genuine people. For that, I will never stop supporting them and wish them all the best.

i'm adam, age 17. i live in n.e. ohio. it's really ridiculous here as far as just the overall environment goes. explosions in the sky is my favorite band, right next to sigur ros. eits keeps me above where i live and helps me live more than this area allows. plus, i play is post-rock band. myspace.com/laveritemusicpeace&love

Hello, my name is Norbert. I live in the Netherlands, still struggling with high school due to some bad life choices. I've been listening to EITS for about a year now, feels longer though. Haven't seen them yet, ...shame. Bought a guitar and equipment a while ago, but all the sounds I'm producing at the moment represent more drone then anything else at the moment, although I'm fine with that.
So yeah, if there is anything you would like to know please ask, I hope I can share and receive the same feeling/energy I get from listening to IETS from posting here. See you around.

Hi, my name is Desmond. I've been listening to EITS for about a year I guess.... I first heard thier music from the Friday Night Lights movie. I bought a couple of their albums off of Itunes and love their music. I listen to it while I jog and I also listen to it before football games.

My names Jon and I've been a fan of explosions for about 5 or 6 years I think. I'm 28 and from Warwickshire England. Funnily enough I didn't 'get' them straight away, it took me a bit of time but when they suddenly clicked it was an amazing moment. They are now easily one of my top 5 favourite bands ever, I think the body of music they have produced is so beautiful and substantial. Every note is perfectly placed, and I love their album sleeves and the songtitles are beautiful in themselves too..
I would rank the EITS albums like this from my favourite to least favourite (although really there is not much in it)
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone The Rescue Those Who Tell The Truth How Strange Innocence
I've seen them twice (although that should be four- I was going to two shows on the cancelled 2007 tour!!), at Brighton in 2008 (a definite 10/10 show) and ATP last December (8/10).
That leads me to a story you guys might like.. at ATP I actually met the band!! I was hanging around the merch stand when i spotted Munaf talking to the merch guy, I didn't want to disturb him though, however then I spotted Chris who was just hanging nearby too. I took my chance and went up and started a conversation! We chatted for quite a while, I told him how I had seen them before, we chatted about ATP, how they got Polvo to reform, the ins and outs of drone rock, how the new album was coming along, and loads more. Even better, Munaf came over and joined our conversation!! He said that ATP was the best festival in the world. They said that the new album was only in the beginning stages- they were thinking about playing a couple of new songs but "they weren't quite there yet". And i got a photo! I can honestly say the guys are as down to earth and chilled out as you can imagine.
anyway, lets pump some life back into this board!!

My name is Amanda and I've been a fan since 2006. I am planning on seeing them for the first time this September, with extreme anticipation...I regret not being able to catch a show before this year... I find their sound both deliciously fascinating and beautifully redeeming. Great story, Jon!
