So yeah Explosions In the Sky is to Friday Night Lights as The Album Leaf is to the show Head to Head. Anybody else ever see this? It's a documentary series following two rival high school football teams in Mississippi, very Friday Night Lights-esque. They were smart enough to obviously copy some ideas from Friday Night Lights - it's set in small, southern towns where high school football is god, they focus on two charismatic coaches, and they even use music that's very similar to Explosions in the Sky....check out the song “Enchanted Hill” by The Album Leaf (starts at the beginning of Part 2 in the video link above)...gave me goose bumps. The Album Leaf are pretty cool, kind of like Explosions if you replaced some of the guitars with electronics/synths.
Anyway, just thought I'd share...
