Just saw that someone wants to write a book on _The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place_ for the 33 1/3 Series. Chek out "The Longlist" post from 1/11/09 at this link: www.33third.blogspot.com/Come On! We need to get behind this!

These guys are one of the most talented bands around these days, but continue to fly under the radar. I've seen them in concert in two different cities and it was unreal! A book on them would be a great read. A glimpse into the minds of these musical geniuses would be a treat to anyone has a true love for music.

A book on them would be a great read. A glimpse into the minds of these musical geniuses would be a treat to anyone has a true love for music. They were on Conan O'Brien, NBC uses their music over and over again for various productions, and they've been used in a lot of movies and commercials. Like, look at wiki's list, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explosions_in_the_Sky#In_popular_culture, that's quite a resume! It would seem that they would be more popular then they are. I think it's just the fact that they don't have a lead singer (that's the point!) and mainstream can't deal with that, at least here in America. A book about them would be awesome though, definitely gets my vote.
