About 2 weeks ago I was flipping through the channels and wound up on Friday Night Lights. I've never watched the show before, but for whatever reason started watching it. There was a scene in which this incredible music was playing, and I got so caught up in the music, I started Tivoing it and just replayed that scene over and over just to listen to the music. After much "Googling" I read many reviews on the soundtrack for the movie and it sounded very similar to what I heard on the TV show. So, I took a chance and bought the soundtrack and was BLOWN away!!
Since then I've bought The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place and How Strange, Innocence. I started listening to The Earth Is... first because of Your Hand In Mine (love the soundtrack version), but haven't made it to How Strange... yet because I keep listening to The Only Moment We Were Alone. In 3 days I must have listened to that song 50 times. That song in particular seems to really be resonating with me and somethings I'm dealing with.
All I can say is that it's very damn impressive how moving and emotional this music is. In my opinion, Tool is one of the best bands at layering guitars and sounds to create an atmosphere and feeling, but EITS is absolutely blowing me away with the things I've heard so far.
Right now my favorites are The Only Moment... and Your Hand In Mine (both versions).

I just discovered them too. I guess I technically 1st heard them (not knowing) while watching Friday Night Lights & thinking...this is one of those movies that the score makes the movie good or better. That was years ago. Recently my friend filled a pen drive with "music I would enjoy" among the nearly 20 albums on there was this curious "all of a sudden I miss everyone" by EITS...not remembering the band name- yet still intrigued, I Haven't stopped listening to it yet (almost throughout my entire day) wake up-put it on, walk to work-put it on, at work-put it on.... I haven't been this exited about music in along time. Can't wait to go out & find all the earlier stuff & discover, truly amazed by the sound & emotion this band creates...at the moment can't get over"it's natural to be afraid" & "So Long, Lonesome" Even though I am very late to the party, I know I will enjoy every minute of catching up with everyone else
