I'm enjoying this far too much not to share with you...
www.youtubecatcher.com - sure you've heard - if not, you can, with this website, capture any footage on youtube as a download and save it to your computer. As you can imagine, every Explosions/Mogwai/Radiohead/Mono/Sigur Ros/Their Strange Gathering vid is now on my classic 80GB.
So easy to do:
1. Find the vid you want (basically, anything that Explosions have done online, live!!)
2. Copy the YouTube link in the browser into the box on youtubecatcher.com.
3. When it prompts you to download, save as .avi (it says save as .swf, but ignore that).
4. This is when it gets illegal - so bear with me: Download Replay Converter from BitComet (this allows you, ridiculously easily, to convert all vid formats to all vid formats, including 'Ipod Video 450 high quality' or something).
5. Using Replay Converter, change the .avi to the Ipod video. Check the 'don't convert audio' box.
6. Drag the new file (will now be MPEG-4) to Itunes / Ipod
7. Enjoy your videos, in your Itunes and Ipod on the go, woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I hope this makes someone as happy as it made me.
Quick now. I'm sure YouTube catcher is more illegal than being found inside a school, naked, with a whip, and 200 year 7 students all chanting 'you are my naked leader'. It will be taken down, I'm sure, early January, as the whole point of YouTube is 'watch, don't own'. HA! HA! Now i OWN. **** YOU, YOUTUBE
