Those are my exact thoughts as well. I think the strenght of the album is the first 2 and the last 2 songs. Your Hand in Mine is such an amazing finish to the last album and I wondered how this one would conclude. So Long, Lonesome is fantastic!
While this new album has given me 2 new top 5 EITS songs (The Birth../So Long), as far as complete albums go...TEINACDP is still tops in my opinion.

I heard the new album about a week ago, a kid i know, had linked it.
It's nothing short from amazing, different then the others. but its good. it shows they have progessed as musicians.

i like it. but to be honest i don't like it nearly as much as i like TWTTTSD. And i'm still debating on whether i like it more than TEINACDP.

I absolutely love this album. It's fantastic. It's tragic. It's everything combined into a 45 minute overture.
I really love how they start the album off so powerfully with The Birth and Death. Lots and lots of growth... keyboards! I like how they've slowly added them in The Rescue, and now on a full length release. Definitely more refined than the rest, but it also retains a raw sense to it. Perfect melding of TWTTTSD and TEINACDP.

I want to devour the beauty of this record. This album is probably my second fav, after TEINACDP. It still radiates originality with its epic sound. I LOVE THIS BAND!
Explosions In the Sky makes me feel again. And I can't wait to pre-order their CD & LP!! Only a week away!!!

Yeah, but everyone who's got it has voiced they're going to buy it. I feel bad, but the guys probably knew it was going to happen.

true true but it'd be also be so easy not too if you already had the tracks and i'm sure they'd rather if everyone just waited for it to be release, but i s'pose thats just the way things are now. i agree i expect they had a feeling it was gonna happen

It´s just a big bonus for me to hear it early. Of course, I´ll still buy it.
Sometimes it helps bands to put their tracks on the internet, but it works a lot more in the "underground".
But I understand what you guys mean.

I wanted to wait, and I really tried, but people just kept sending me links. It was too much for my Explosions-obsessed mind, haha.

Sometimes it helps bands to put their tracks on the internet, but it works a lot more in the "underground". VERY VERY true yndi halda wouldn't be anywhere the size they are if it wasn't for the pirating of their music but like you said works better for underground bands to get their tracks circulating and get known. but for a established band like eits its the difference between people downloading it and not buying and the risk of being dropped by their label through no fault of their own.

Yea, Yndi Halda is a great example.
I started listening to them way before they got known. I was lucky.
