I get the feeling that this board is so far just admirers and not serious fans. This is some of the most dense music out there that seems to tell stories without words and portray entire environments with only using one of our senses. I honestly feel like I detach from everything else around me when I listen to EITS, especially this EP. I'm sure there are loads of serious fans on here. Some people just react differently to sounds, I suppose. I know how you mean though--everything just goes away into the background when EITS is playing. Whenever I'm trying to get someone new to listen to them, I tell them to put on headphones and listen to TEINACDP in its entirety with their eyes closed. It's the best way.

Music is a wholly separate experience for everyone, and so it will be expressed in different ways. Just because some people aren't as expansive in their responses doesn't mean they don't appreciate the overall music product.

int ...Only EITS and Sigur Ros can do this for me. I get the feeling that this board is so far just admirers and not serious fans. Barney18 probably thinks that EITS is doing something that other bands cannot, maybe in some way they are, but let me tell you this, Barney, there´s so many bands out there yet to be found, and how I read it you should really look for them. I think you´ll be amazed. I´m quite a EITS fan myself, but I´m not gonna stumble on them and never get back up. I admire their musical talent, and how they manage to wake up something that develops the feeling of experience for some of those who hear their tunes. But they´re not the only ones in this genre. I realize that I´m on a EITS forum, but I don´t have to be their biggest fan. I really enjoy their tones, and I respect them a lot... but I listen to so many bands that I can´t make up my mind when people starts to talk about their favorites.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean yet. At exactly 7 minutes into that song I suddenly get very moist. Sorry for the detail but that's how it makes me feel.

i felt like first breath after coma stumbled a little in the beginning, but by the middle was unbelievable. the only moment... has such an awesome cacophonous aspect to it. loved the whole buildup. six days is one of the loneliest songs i've ever heard, but the key change in the middle felt kind of forced. memorial has its moments, but is pretty bland overall. its the only time this album ever makes me think about skipping to the next track. your hand in mine is probably my favorite track on the album. all the melodies just nail it...its such a sincere song.
great album, but i like 'those who tell the truth' just a hair better, even though in terms of tone i consider it much darker and more desolate. i feel this album kind of stumbles in parts with its aura of optimism, but then again that makes it that much more human and identifiable. i hope we're lucky enough to hear an album half this good with their newest.
P.S. since when is this an EP?

P.S. since when is this an EP? I was going to point that out earlier. Last I knew the album was released as a full-length and is about 50 minutes long which sufficiently qualifies it for long playing (lp) status. Plus, a sticker on my records shrink rap says "2XLP". s. white

I'm going to have "Your Hand In Mine" played at my funeral.

Funeral? I used to think of it as a tragic song - but I like it more as a wedding song maybe. Nothing against your choice though. Look Into The Air would be a fitting funeral song for me, I think. (offtopic, oh well)

Very true, to me, "Your Hand In Mine" always brings back memories of good times with friends & family. Halfway through, I always get bummed out because I wonder why such an amazing song had to end, much like how other good things in life had to end.

six days... has always seemed the saddest to me. maybe because i always imagine those people trapped in the submarine. they used their instruments perfectly to display all those complex emothions like hopelessness and later dying it seems.
