Across the wide span of the Internet lies this little message board.
At first glance, it seems to be just another dead forum, like so many others. Abandoned by the creators and maintainers, a slow stream of activity, but mostly nothing. However, I think there is more than that here. I see a time capsule. Buried here are almost ten years' worth of memories, ten years of thoughts, and ten years of music. Ten years isn't even as long as EITS has been around, but this board is like a time capsule to the past. Of people and of music.
As you, the reader, you have a choice to whether you wish to remain a reader or to add your thoughts. But for now, most of you will remain as the former. And there's nothing wrong with that. Whether you found this place by intense webpage stalking, digging through the EITS website, or maybe a lucky search engine hit, you are now beholding a small time capsule into the past. This place isn't quite representative of a whole, and hardly even a portion, yet here we are.
The year is only 2015, and the world is a constantly changing and evolving place. Each passing month, year, quinquennium, decade, the world we know changes and evolves into something new and different. Sometimes it's expected. Sometime it's not, and it's foreign. But regardless of how you feel about the change, you must learn to embrace the changes and adapt. The world is still a young place. There is a lot to learn, and science will only continue to teach us more about this place that we live. But... take a moment and reflect on the past. It's important to know the history of the world in which we live, so we can act in our own lives without repeating the mistakes of others or repeating the same series of the past.
So here is this time capsule. It may not represent much in reality, but perhaps it means more to you and me than someone else. Perhaps you're here and it still doesn't mean anything. Nonetheless, it is your interpretation to make.
I bid the future good day.
