i tend to flip-flop one way or the other on which is my favorite album of theirs. when "how strange, innocence" got re-released i couldn’t bring myself to take it out of my cd-player. personally i think the opening "a song for our fathers" backed with "snow and lights" is hard to beat as a musical moment. that may be nostalgia talking though, since it was the first album i heard by them. i think explosions in the sky really knows how to open up an album (greet death, yasmin the light being another example). Also, the travels in constants e.p. is very under-rated, a lot of people fault it because they don't have the slap you in the face crescendos that, say, "those who tell the truth..." has. honestly, that release has gotten me the most psyched, because of the anticipation of what they will do with their next full-length.

'have you passed though this night' is one of my fave tracks, the drumming is immense and i really like the sample from the thin red line Even though that song isnt on the "Cold Dead Place" EP, it is an amazing song. I have to say that this EP is my favorite thing from EITS so far, but I'm hoping to eat my words with the new stuff coming out. Your Hand in Mine is such a therapeutic song for me. From the beginning melody that brings to mind a musical jewelry box to the huge ending, I get this sense of separation from my environment. Only EITS and Sigur Ros can do this for me.

Just DL "The Rescue" from their website if you don't already have it. There are some standout tracks on it, even though they are super short. It was a nice little departure from what they normally do.

Hey Everyone... I like to know which parts/songs you like the most on this record... and how much does it differs for you from the other records. Greets, Rudy First Breath After Coma is my favorite track on the album. Your Hand In Mine and Memorial are beautiful as well.

I really am impressed with the artwork for their albums as it directly relates to their music. the artwork for 'the earth is not a cold dead place' is fantastic, and if you look at the inside of the spine in small writing it says 'because you are listening' which is a good touch

I get the feeling that this board is so far just admirers and not serious fans. This is some of the most dense music out there that seems to tell stories without words and portray entire environments with only using one of our senses. I honestly feel like I detach from everything else around me when I listen to EITS, especially this EP.
